The Montana Suicide Rate Reduction Council.

Founded in Missoula, Montana. August 06, 2021.

Dateline: March 08, 2022. Of liars and sycophants.

Hate the fate. Reduce the rate.

For the record, you can't capture progress. Progress is not some sort animal to be put in a cage. Progress must always be process oriented and have a distinct focus on actual improvement as a product of that process. Any failure to validly embrace progress for what it is will only lead to more problems. Just as we are seeing yet again at MSH today.

                                               Good actor defined.

Dr. Polly Peterson.
Speaks the truth.
Is ethical.

Bad actor personified.

Dr. Marla Lemons.
Administrator.
Willfully flaunts truth.
Is not ethical.

Night and. Both of these psychologists had equal input as to the situation at MSH, and yet only one of them chose to do the right thing. Both of these psychologists had ample opportunity to do the right thing, but only one chose to bow out and stand idly by as these crises developed.

It must also be said that there are always good staff to be found in state managed hospitals. They are absolute jewels in the face of power hungry administrators. Generally threatened by administrators who use retaliation against staff and patient's alike should they come forward, they nonetheless have the character to do the right thing to best of their ability. It is has been my experience that these staff are always a minority, most certainly those with less power, and it has become my practice to encourage such staff  to report such issues, and encouraging them to consider applicable protections in law and policy that make retaliation patently illegal. While rarely do we see a licensed medical provider come forward and share their knowledge of these truths. If they were to be so honest than many of these problems wouldn't arise.

On the plain basis of her own inability to allow for what goes on at MSH, Dr. Polly Peterson left MSH of her volition after DPPHS refused to renew her contract, and only after she had openly challenged hospital administrators about staff shortages at MSH in March, 2021. In fact, Dr. Peterson requested to meet with the current MSH Kyle Fouts in that time period, her hope that these things be looked at before the crisis we see today.

Of DPHHS officials and administrative MSH staff willing to make preservation of their own perverted status quo ahead of the interests of the highly vulnerable adults hospitalized at The Montana State Hospital. Of these patterns in any state managed hospital, in fact, and here we are seeing it oh so clearly yet again in Montana. Of media owned by corporate monopolies that have an omninescient conglomerate for a parent.

It must be said that none of the following are a good idea today. Foxes in the hen house. Sycophants sucking up to those who abuse power. People who work for the citizens but nonetheless engage in utterly unacceptable conduct in breach of the public trust by which they are employed. News reporting that leaves out as much as it provides, suggesting a grave lack of legitimate investigative reporting.

FACT: Dr. Marla Meadows has worked at Montana State Hospital for nineteen years. She is an administrator and she is married to another administrator, just another happy couple working for DHPPS who make deliberate indifference their hallmark. The popular press' continuing dependence on the same people who are behind these problems is bad journalism on its face.

FACT: The popular press' continuing dependence on the same people who are behind these problems is bad journalism on its face. Lee News is defined by corporate interests, a corporate raider that feeds on independent news reporting and employs journalists who will say just about whatever they are told to say. On point with the bureaucratic sycophants in DPHHS, the loyalty is towards the employer, while the citizens are little more than fodder for deadlines and a controlled narrative. The Montana Suicide Rate Reduction Council will return to this concern at a later date.

FACT: January, 2017. A senior ranking MSH administrator directed a mid-level manager named Jeff Pfluge to "capture evidence of progress" as though with a camera, to create appearance versus produce actual progress. This attempt to create a false narrative about the status of the oversight and intervention process in 2017 directly contributed to what we are seeing at MSH today. The ignorance exhibited that day, the presumption nobody is paying close attention to them.

The state of Montana has been employing any number of questionably qualified, if qualified at all, public health care representatives. Including another MSH psychologist named Marla Lemons. In a recent Lee News article, "Lawmakers to begin work on Montana State Hospital. Committee begins to draft legislation to help." (By Seaborn Larson. Sunday, March 06, 2022.), it is now on public record that Lemons provided testimony to Montana lawmakers in a special meeting of the Montana Children, Families, Health and Human Services. And, as per the usual, Lemons willfully relied on deceptive information sharing in providing that testimony.

"Please do not let the MSH administration get away with externalizing blame to the COVID pandemic." (Marla Lemons)

Dr. Marla Lemons

There are people very committed to preserving status quo with the broken, arguably perverted DPHHS construct. Dr. Marla Lemons is one them, an absolute contradiction to the ethical character of Dr. Peterson. We have this woman, who is in fact a psychologist, as well. Night and day, this narrative, and it's really upon the public to know see this for what it is. Lemons is employed as per the terms of the public trust, and she has now presented herself as effectively untruthful on the public record. She can't be trusted, that is, to represent the interests of our citizens. If she could be, we wouldn't only be hearing from her after these crisis acquire such magnitude.

The audacity of Lemon's statements begins with the plain fact that for some portion of the last nineteen (19) years, she has been an MSH administrator staff member herself. Present for each and every scandal that has arisen at MSH for that period of time,  and as an administrative staff representative for at least the last 5-7 years. Ample opportunity to have spoken out in advance of these such issues before they reach a level of crisis. Also, DPHHS/MSH wouldn't have Lemons testifying if they didn't have faith in knowing that she will work to preserve status quo.

Any reasonably experienced investigative journalist knows that the last people who will be willing to talk about the issues at stake are the doctors. Licensed medical providers in these hospitals are often less than outstanding in the first place and patently unwilling to allow their name into things when such crisis emerge. And this directly contributes to furthering the harms and other concerns associated with such crises. Any such testimony is highly valuable, its very rareness and the information that providers have specific to the suffering of their patients. It is thus greatly, greatly appreciated that we now have a provider in Montana willing to tell the truth.

It simply must asked, why in the hell didn't Marla Lemons step forward in the way that Dr. Peterson did? Why only now is she the one DPHHS has wanting to speak about these things? Was she Dr. Peterson's boss?

It has been Lemons practice for the whole of her time at MSH to remain sort of out of the spotlight. As though, you know, a nose to the job professional, which can appear as being a good thing. But this writer can attest to the fact that Marla Lemons has been fully aware of these problems for many years now. She has condoned premature discharge of highly at risk consumer-patients, turning a blind eye towards risk of suicide, and engaging in doing whatever she can to avoid due oversight in her own right. Lemons' attempt to stay out the limelight is over. She has now proven herself to be just one more bad actor.

And a bit thanks to Dr. Polly Peterson for having the essential character required of any caring medical professional.

Dr. Polly Peterson.

In closing. The clinical psychologist who testified in the above described special meeting has put on a few pounds over the last few years. Just another well fed Montana girl eating her way into fame and fortune.
